High-grade quartz vein and granodiorite-hosted gold mineralisation at the Heart of the Nanortalik Gold Belt , South Greenland.

Overview

Amaroq Minerals’ 100% owned Vagar Ridge gold project is located within the highly prospective Nanortalik Gold Belt and covers the majority of the Niaqornaarsuk Peninsula as well as the immediate surroundings of Nalunaq Gold Mine.

The Vagar licence is situated 25km to the north of the Nalunaq project and Amaroq Minerals’  centre of operations.

The Niaqornaarsuk peninsula contains the strongest gold anomalies in Greenland, with gold hosted in a variety of settings including high-grade narrow-vein occurrences with coarse visible gold and in hydrothermally altered granodiorites. Drilling has so far only taken place at Vagar Ridge, one of at least six high priority gold targets so far identified across the licence.

Historical exploration of the Vagar Ridge target provided initial indications of both Orogenic (historically drilled by Nuna Minerals A/S ) and Intrusion Related Gold mineralisation with up to 2,533g/t gold in auriferous quartz veins and up to 14.4g/t gold in the host granodiorite.
